Prooptiki SA at the 20th Cross Border Tax Workshop 2025 of Integra International
On September 20, 2025, Prooptiki SA participated in the 20thCross Border Tax Workshop 2025 organized by Integra International, which took place in Toulouse, France. This event is one of the most important events for exchanging knowledge and experience in the field of international taxation, bringing together specialized tax advisors and professionals from different countries and continents.
The workshop was attended by tax advisors from Europe, the United States, Asia, and Africa, giving the discussions a truly global perspective. The presence of such diverse representatives highlighted the various tax approaches applied in each region, as well as the common challenges faced by businesses at an international level.
The topic of the workshop was electronic invoicing (e-invoicing) and the legal framework governing it in each country. Electronic invoicing refers to the issuance, transmission, receipt, and archiving invoices exclusively in electronic form with full legal validity, eliminating the need for printed invoices. This development has already begun to be implemented in many countries, while in others it is still in a transitional phase.

During the presentations, the different practices followed by tax authorities worldwide were analyzed. In some countries, electronic invoicing is mandatory, with strict standards and control mechanisms directly linked to the tax authorities. In other countries, its use is still optional but is actively promoted as a means of modernization and transparency.
Special emphasis was placed on the benefits that electronic invoicing offers both to businesses and to the state. For businesses, using electronic invoices results in reduced costs, faster transaction processing, better organization of records, and a significant reduction in errors. For tax authorities, electronic invoicing serves as a tool to reduce tax evasion, improve traceability, and increase efficiency in tax audits.
During the workshop, participants exchanged experiences regarding how businesses adapt to the new requirements, the technical solutions being adopted, and the legal issues arising from different national legislations. The discussions also addressed challenges related to interoperability between different systems, the need for common standards, and the ways in which a more uniform international implementation can be achieved.

Prooptiki’s participation in this workshop provided an excellent opportunity for international updates as well as networking with industry professionals. Through the exchange of knowledge and best practices, the trends that will shape the future of taxation—particularly electronic invoicing—were highlighted.
This experience further strengthens Prooptiki’s commitment to staying at the forefront of developments, offering clients modern and reliable solutions that align with international practices. Electronic invoicing is not only a technological innovation but also an important step toward a more transparent and efficient tax environment.
